Major request and changes to administrative services and university websites must follow an approval and testing workflow. This process ensures that key parties review and approve such changes to their (or their group's) websites and online content. The follow types of requests are considered major changes:
- Web Application Development
Example: Creating a website to provide unit specific functionality and services
- Redesigns
Example: Significant changes to a website's theme and/or design (e.g., color schemes, style, etc.)
- Navigation/URL Changes
Example: A reorganization and/or renaming of a site's navigation and links
- New Sub-Site Request
Example: Requests to create entirely new websites and/or sub-sites
Process
Major Change Requests follow a three-stage approval process:
Stage 1 - Initial Review
Ensure that the request meets the definition of a major change request and that it falls under the responsibility of the administrative services web development group.
Stage 2 - Testing and Review
Implement the request changes on a test-site/page and have the requestor verify that the work meets their requirements and expectations.
Stage 3 - Final Approval and Implementation
Confirm the changes with key parties and implement the work on the production site.
